How to Use Your One Line a Day Journal
Welcome. This is a year-long journal with one line for every day. That is the whole idea. A single line takes about a minute. Over twelve months those lines add up to a record of your year that you will be glad to have.
The pages are dated by month and day, but not by year or weekday, so you can start whenever you like and use it in any year. Write the year on the first page of each month.
The one-line rule
Write one line. If you want to write more, write it somewhere else. One line is easy to keep up, and that is why it works.
A line can be:
- What happened ("Dinner at Mom's.")
- What you noticed ("First crocus by the mailbox.")
- How you felt ("Tired but happy.")
- Something someone said ("Lily: 'Can we always have pancakes?'")
- A plain fact ("Rained all day.")
A filled-in month
Here is a whole month, so you can see how ordinary and short the lines are.
